01. How much money will I be awarded if my application is successful?
Upon approval of your application,
you will receive 70% of the approved amount to
help you get started on the project. The remaining
30% will be disbursed to you only after the end
of your project, upon successful submission of
the project
completion report (DOC: 27KB).
Any unused funds must be returned to NYAA upon completion of the project. All receipts, invoices and other documentary proof of spending must be submitted for verification.

02. Some of my group members are not Singaporeans. Are we allowed to apply for the grant?
The NYAA-Nexus Project Grant is open to anyone residing in Singapore (including Permanent Residents and non-citizens) who is interested in exploring what it means to be Singaporean.

03. Can I use the NYAA-Nexus Project Grant to promote Singapore as a tourist destination to
people in other countries?
No. The NYAA-Nexus Project Grant funds only projects that are targeted primarily at Singaporeans and residents of Singapore. Projects that focus on other groups, such as tourists, are not eligible for the grant.

04. My project has already started. Am I eligible for the NYAA-Nexus Project Grant?
No. Work on the project should
start only after funding has been approved. The
launch date of the project should also be at least
two months after the submission deadline e.g.,
projects submitted during the 1 January to 30
April application window should be launched only
from 1 July (two months after 30 April).

05. How many times can I apply for the grant?
There is no restriction on the number of times you can apply for the grant.

06. When is the application deadline?
There are two application windows - 1 January to 30 April and 1 June to 31 August.
The two respective application deadlines are therefore 30 April and 31 August.

07. How will my application be assessed?
Applications are assessed by a selection committee made up of NYAA and Nexus representatives, based on a set of selection criteria.

08. When will I know the outcome of my application?
Applicants will be notified of the outcome of their applications within one to two months from the closing date of each application window. Work on the projects should start only after the approval of the application.

09. My application has been approved. Can I make changes to the project after that?
You are required to inform NYAA immediately if there are significant changes to the project's objective, scope and outcomes after the approval of your application. The selection committee reserves the right to withdraw or modify the amount of funding allocated in such a scenario.

10. What percentage of my project's total cost will the grant cover?
The amount of funding awarded will depend on the complexity and effectiveness of the project (please refer to the selection criteria).
Applicants are encouraged to be entrepreneurial and identify other sources of funding to make up the difference if the amount awarded does not cover the full cost of the project.

11. What can the grant money be used for?
In general, the funds allocated by the grant should only be used for operating costs (e.g., developing film for a photography project) rather than the purchase of equipment and other capital expenses (e.g., buying a digital camera). Applicants should therefore include only operating costs in their budget proposal.

12. My application for the grant was rejected. Can I re-submit the application?
Yes, you may request the selection committee for feedback on how you can improve your application. You can then re-submit it during the next application window after making the necessary changes.

13. Is the NYAA-Nexus Project Grant open only to youths?
No, the NYAA-Nexus Project Grant is open to Singapore residents of all ages.
