Projects & Activities
Every year, the NYAA Council spearheads projects that are geared towards youth development. It also works in partnership with government institutions and companies in organizing activities that benefit young people.

The NYAA Council works in various areas including:

• Environmental protection • International exchange programmes
• Sustainable development • NYAA Young Photographers’ Network (YPN)
• Community projects and involvement • Service Beyond Gold (Gold Award Holders’ Alumni)
• Youth and the elderly  
• Training programmes  

Below are a few of its many projects and activities:

NYAA Gold Award Presentation Ceremony
The Gold Award is the pinnacle of the NYAA Programme. As such, the Gold Award Presentation Ceremony is considered the most important event that recognizes the volunteerism and outstanding contributions of young Singaporeans to their society and country.

Lunar New Year Luncheon for the Elderly
Every Lunar New Year celebration, the NYAA/Shaw Foundation Youth and the Elderly Integration Programme provides a celebration dinner that benefits the needy elderly.

Bayer Young Environmental Envoy Award Ceremony
The Bayer Young Environmental Envoy (BYEE) Award is given annually to young people who have initiated environmental projects in their communities. It is organized by Bayer (South East Asia) with the support of NYAA Council and United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP). Award winners will receive a fully sponsored trip to Germany to study the German Environmental Programme.

National Youth Environment Conference (NYEC)
The NYEC provides a platform for young delegates to discuss a wide range of environmental issues. It is organized by the NYAA Council with the support of NEA, PUB and Ministry of the Environment and Water Resources.

Bronze and Silver Award Presentation Ceremony
The NYAA Council also holds Bronze and Silver Award Presentation Ceremony for youth who have made commendable work to improve themselves and their communities.

Youth Eco-Concert
The NYAA Youth Eco-Concert, which is held in conjunction with Earth Day, promotes environmental protection and nature conservation among the young.

APEC Voices of the Future
NYAA Council helps in organizing the APEC Voices of the Future, which brings together more than 100 youth leaders and educators from the 21 APEC Member Economies to engage with Heads of Government and business leaders on issues related to sustainable growth and development. It also sends youth delegates to represent Singapore at the APEC Summit.

LEAF Programme
NYAA’s Leadership for Females Programme (LEAF) exposes young women in our community and provides them with activities and dialogues to broaden their knowledge and skills on female leadership.

YO! Forum
The YO! (Young & Old) Forum, co-organized by the NYAA Council, NYAA GAHA and the Council for Third Age (C3A), aims to promote greater awareness and understanding of aging and inter-generational issues.

ABC Photography Workshop
NYAA helps young photographers improve their craft as well as promote awareness for the environment through the ABC (Active, Beautiful and Clean) photography workshops.
