 The HSBC/NYAA Youth Environmental Award was established in 1998 with the support of the Ministry of the Environment to honor youths between the ages of 14 and 25 years for their outstanding contributions, achievements and commitment towards environmental protection and nature conservation in Singapore.
In creating the award, the NYAA Council and HSBC Singapore hope to generate national recognition and support for outstanding youth leaders who have excelled in their pursuit to care for the environmental and ultimately, for the community.
Winners of the award will each receive a citation plaque and be given the opportunity to participate in a fully sponsored overseas trip to study various environmental projects organized by international agencies such as the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP).
Since 2004, the NYAA Council and HSBC Singapore have partnered with Earthwatch to provide an annual Environmental Study Trip that goes well with the NYAA Environment Award Program.
Meanwhile, Merit Award winners will each receive a citation plaque and a $300 book voucher.
The Award is sponsored by HSBC Singapore under the HSBC/NYAA Youth Excellence Fund.
